The Benja Blog

Is the epicenter of my digital life. Professional reel, photos, one-off-rants, micro-blog, pet-projects, once they were spread across the ether. Now they have a permanent home at... the Benja Blog.

BENJA-GALLERY

I've been flirting with photojournalism and photography since high school. This is a collection of my work over the years. Nearly all of the images are available for use. Please contact me about rights.

B-theChange

I believe in a grassroots approach to protecting the global commons. I started B-thechange to educate people and spur them to action. B-theChange has been a pet project of mine for years. I don't have as much time for it as I'd like but the project is important to me and I continue to work on it.

FROM YOURSELF FROM THE FUTURE

Is a prank website that exploits a hole in the underlying architecture of email to allow people to prank their friends. FYFTF was generated late one night during a coding session on B-theChange. I realized I could manipulate the FROM line of emails easily and after getting some laughs as bobama@whitehouse.gov and Sspielberg@amblin.com I figured maybe there was a way I could let other people in on the fun, without getting into too much trouble. FYFTF is my first commercial site, it's still in need of spit and polish, but it's fully functional and very fun.

BenandErinGetMarried.com

I'm getting married! What excuse more natural for a website. We want to communicate all kinds of details to more than 100 people spread all over the world, and we want them to feel like a community as they get to know each other. This site, built on top of wordpress, is easy for Erin and me to updatef. Sections are password protected to keep out wedding crashers, but feel free to poke around the parts that aren't.

'08 PORTFOLIO

This is my old portfolio site. Think of it as Benja-blog 0.1. It's organizing principles make it slicker and more centralized than The Benja Blog, but also mean it is much harder to maintain. It was last updated in 2008. Most of the content here is now available through Benja-Blog.

THE BOND GAME

is a pervasive game I produced for a friend's Bond themed New Years Party. The game is based on the well known LARP assassins. I wrote a website and produced a series of videos to theme the game, guide players, keep score and manage assignments. The website is currently dormant, but you can take a peak with the Username: BOND and Password: 007

OUTER-WEB: FLICKR

Flickr has some great aggregation abilities that I still make use of. So some of the photos from Benja-Gallery are also available here.

OUTER-WEB: YOUTUBE

Access a selection of my videos here, or check out some of my Jazeera work in my favorites.

OUTER-WEB: FACEBOOK

Friend me. I've found that facebook posts are the most effective way to get a boost in traffic on my sites and I'm a millennial; of course I'm on facebook! I mean where else am I gonna keep my drunken college photos?

OUTER-WEB: TWITTER

I really only use twitter as a pipeline for populating my google and facebook status. Lately I've also started recording it for posterity. But if you want to go the root for some reason... here it is.
